Be The Chosen One

Be not in vain-
Do only that which is important;
Put away idle talk,
Put away idle deeds,
Put away idle thoughts,
Labour in love in Christ Jesus.
For in Him, and in Him only,
Is where reward may be found.

Be not in vain-
But in everything you do
Do according to His will.
Hide your treasures in Him
For in Him are hidden things, great,
Which cannot be found
'Cept they be revealed;
Made known by the Revealer
Who purposes Himself to
Show Himself to those:
Those whom He loves,
Those who know Him,
Those whom He knows,
Those who love Him.

Be not in vain-
Be the chosen one.

Be not in vain-
Find the Hidden One
For He's hid from you too
'Til only . . . Only He knows
When time shall bring to pass
That unveiling from your eyes.
Open your heart
So it may be unveiled too,
For that's where He enters in
To show Himself to you.

Be not in vain-
When the veil has disappeared
Then suddnely, like a spark,
You know Him
And He knows you too.
The union of the marriage
Happens quickly, but do not fear
For this is your true purpose;
Eternity begins right here.

Be not in vain-
Be the chosen one.

Be not in vain-
The Suitor is after you
But only if you'll let Him
Be found in you.
But this can only be
To those elect - whom He may choose.
Don't you realize yet?
He chooses everyone--
Yes, He chose you!

Be not in vain-
For the heart must be willing
To let Him choose you too.
See, even though He picked you
The marriage is not complete
Until you melt your wax,
And yield your heart at His feet.
When all the wax is gone and
All the hearts' waste He depletes,
He gathers up from His feet
And by Himself He fills them.
Pouring out His love, He says,
"Now my chosen are unveiled and complete."

Be the chosen one

Be not in vain-
For the marriage is still to come.
Many things must come to pass
Before its fulfillment is completely done.
The will of the Father
Must be instilled in each one's heart.
"What is His will?" you ask-
Search His Word to find out.
Don't give up! for the search must
Needs be done:
But, to the diligent seeker,
He's revealed to that very one.

Be not in vain-
For His will may seem complex.
Details! Details!
What shall I do next?
Show me! Show me!
Please, Lord, I don't know.
Patience, keep patience,
For endurance is the true test.
How does this all fit?
I don't seem to understand
Why all this is necessary
To bring His will to pass.
All the refining and melting
May seem to hurt a bit;
But out of the fire
His will becomes one;
Now it's your will, to pray
"Thy kingdom come."

Be not in vain-
Have no worry, no, don't fret
Over cares of this world,
Their importance is of none effect.
The idle worries, idle cares
Merely burden and make you wear
That unnatural, unstately image
Of that perverted one that you bear.
Put off that old "Pokey!"
Yes, that evil one he is;
Put on that new image,
The one He created you in.

Be not in vain-
How shall this I do?
What new man in there to see?
I told you before; I'll tell you again
Don't forget, He's hid.
But these things will guide you, day by day:
Whatsoever is . . .
True, and Honest,
Just, and Pure,
Lovely, and of Good Report;
If there is Virtue,
If there is Praise,
Think on these things.

Be not in vain-
Be the chosen one.

Be not in vain-
Why cry you, do this, do that,
Please help me Lord,
I need this, I need that?
Where is your heart?
Where is your treasure?
Hide in Him; your soul;
Don't you sell!
What reward do you seek?
Your heart will tell.

Be not in vain-
What search you for?
Is it what your eyes can see,
Or Him who knows you well?
Is it what your ears can hear,
Or Him Whom you know well?
Stop searching and asking for
Things in this darkened realm.
Your need's not in this night-
Find your secret Reward in
His kingdom of Light.
Don't ask, "What will you do?"
He's already done it;
He's waiting for you.
