If Jesus had a Christmas tree
in heaven, decorated,
it would be greater than any
yet before celebrated.

Neither tinsel nor popcorn,
not even stringed beads,
would encircle its branches
for there'd be no need.

It would not be adorned
with trinkets and balls,
even though heaven's jewels
are greater than all.

Not a star or an angel
would sit atop this tree,
nor carols be sung
with gladness and glee.

For, glorious joy and praises
would spring forth from its base
and up through its branches
for God's mercy and grace.

Its awesome beauty
would tell its own story
as it glowed, not from lights,
but shone with God's glory.
