Elusion
by
Larry Bryan

Chestnut hair
And hazel eyes
Broken Promises
Bourne in lies
A desire for something
That seldom is found
For It and Desire
Rarely share the same ground
The power of silence
Oft preempted by voice
That impulsive deceiver
Which can rob us of choice.
Yet absence of Desire
Kills the gift, some would say,
And a life filled with silence
Steals tomorrow away.
In a world full of riddles
Gifts to us, from above,
The greatest of these
Is the riddle called love.
