Led Zeppelin- the greatest band ever to grace the air waves. Named after a comment made by Keith Moon, he thought the band would go over like a "lead balloon." Obviously he was wrong. The four members of Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones (aka John Paul Baldwin), were all amazing musicians in their own right. They released 9 albums together until John Bonham died in 1980. Then CODA was released. In 1994 Page and Plant got together to release No Quarter/Unledded and four years later released Walking into Clarksdale. John Paul Jones now plays bass for Diamonda Gallus. Email me your favourite album and song, and tell me why. Also I am glad to hear from any fans that have something they want added to the page.

Many songs by Zeppelin have references to occult ideas and mythological references. Besides these there are frequent references to the Hobbit and other novels by Tolkien.

The first song I can see the first obvious reference to Tolkien works is on the second album, II. The entire song is in reference to the second book in the middle earth series. Frodo sets out from Rivendale in the fall, when the "leaves are falling all around."
