Bindi will always be treasured by her online AfriCam friends. An outpouring of support and love soon filled the boma bulletin board when the news was broken that we wouldn't see Bindi there anymore.

Here is what they had to say:

Terribly sad news about our friend, Bindi. I received a phone call this afternoon from Australia. Bindi's daughter asked me to let you all know that Bindi has passed away, having finally succummed to emphysema. I will say more when I can. As for now, I ask that you all pray for the family of one of the sweetest, funniest, most mysterious gals the boma has ever known. Bindi will be sorely missed.

A candle burns here in NZ for my dearest neighbour, Bindi, who often used to "go walkabout" when she visited us on the Boma. Her passing comes as a terrible shock and my thoughts and prayers are with her family. Go well my Aussie buddy - I will be one of the many who will miss you.

Candle burning in Arkansas, USA for Bindi and prayers going up for her and her family. She was certainly part of the fabric of our Africam community, and as the posts I've read already show, her remembrance is a testimonial to the love and friendship that abounds here.

Sorry to hear about Bindi but I am also happy for her. She has gone on to a better place where there is no pain or sickness and has been made whole again.
My thoughts & prayers go out to the family & friends she left behind. Only time can heal their grief, but may they find happiness in their memories of her.

I am so very sorry and send prayers and thoughts to the family. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Bindi but have received a bit of the essence of her life from Carol's message. Sweet, funny and mysterious sound like wonderful ways to be remembered

Bindi: My heart is breaking. I lost a very good friend. You never knew when Bindi would show up on the Boma. She would chat awhile and then she would be gone. No gooodbyes. She left this life the same way. No goodbyes. Bindi was one of the first people to greet me on the Boma. That was back in the good old days. The days we used to come here to have fun and joke around.
I will miss my friend.
God speed Bindi. :'(

Bindi: I'm shocked over Bindi's passing. I had no idea and I don't think anyone did. She was a good friend to me. Bindi was the first person I talked to long ago on this Boma. I still remember the day I was laughing so hard my husband came to see,I told him it's a inside joke. Oh Bindi you are surely going to be missed by me! She called me Debicans. I still can't believe it. Bindi had the greatest sense of humor she always made me laugh.A candle will burning in my heart for my dear friend Bindi always. I'll Miss you soooo much.... Debicans

To Bindi's family: I do not remember *meeting* Bindi on the Boma but having read the tributes to her memory I am truly sorry we did not meet. How wonderful to be remembered as someone who brought so much joy and laughter to the many who knew her as well as the air of mystery she portrayed. Bindi, may you now be at peace, have constant laughter and be in a position to watch over your family.
To Bindi's family my condolences. I do hope that when the pain has subsided you will be able to remember Bindi as you knew her and also as many Bomite friends knew her. Read the messages of condolence and take heart that the lady Bindi, your mum and close family member was very well loved by people all over the world and will be remembered by those same people.

Remember the laughter the good time you share
Light a candle at boma To show that you care
To heaven she soars to the angels above
Wrapped up in happiness surrounded by songs and love.
Godspeed!
