There are many young adults working in the Corpus Christi, Texas area who do not have many opportunities to spend time with Christians their age. It is often assumed that everyone in their mid twenties to mid thirties have moved to other parts of Texas. Although Bethel Assemblies of God, First United Methodist, and other local congregations have singles progams, they are for older singles. And of course there are youth groups for teenagers and campus ministries for college students. This leaves the majority of people in their 20's and 30's in Corpus Christi unreached by the Church. This also leaves many Christian singles, particularly those in smaller congregations, with few activities to do with other Christians in their age group. Our group is for Christian singles in their mid 20's to mid 30's who want to be involved in Bible studies, service activities, and social events with each other. We welcome single young adults of all denominations who have accepted Christ as their savior. We are starting a Bible study and we have had several social activities together such as attending the Petra concert, Claye Cross concert, and Bayfest. We have only had one Bible study so far but we plan to have have regularly this next year. We have also had several dinners together, business meetings, and two get togethers at Swing Street Cafe (Unfortunately the first time we met at Swing Street was the Saturday Hurricane Bret threatened the area so few came to that meeting). Some of our members also bought Christmas gifts for a 9 year-old daughter of a single mother who is having financial trouble.
