Message Board Ministry

"Contraversial" barely begins to describe the sentiments expressed on these wonderful inventions.

A "message board" is an e-mail styled messaging system, except it is accessible to all who browse the page. These are used for various purpouses. Mainly to share thoughts and criticism of a particular web page, but are also widely used to discuss issues of all kinds.

What can we as Christians do on a message board to deliver the good news of Jesus Christ? Simple: Leave a message of salvation. You can stay annonymous, or leave an e-mail address so viewers can correspond with you or ask for advice. Be prepared! If you leave an e-mail address, be ready for harsh criticism, along with the encouraging messages.

Message Boards have done much to instill courage in those who would normally keep their opinions and world-views quiet. Thus, you may see many Pantheist message boards and a lot of 'minority view-point' themes.

Prayerfully and considerately tailor your message of salvation according to the theme and style of message board you are on. If you are on a Pagan message board, for instance, you may want to ask a probing question like, "If we are free to do whatever we please with no standards of conduct, what would happen if everybody agreed with your religion?" or something else profoundly stimulating.

You will be surprised at how many responses that can be generated by even the slightest degree of truth.

By all means, if you see a christian message board, encourage the believers, and ask them to join S.T.R.I.K.E.

Explore a message board. Chances are, you'll find an evangelical or two who left his thoughts on politcs or salvation on there. Encourage them, too, if they're in line with Bible doctrine. If they left and e-mail address, drop 'em a line and ask them to join S.T.R.I.K.E.

Remember, to keep the salvation offered by Jesus Christ the main theme of conversation, and don't get to diverted by politics or discussions of 'other religions'.
