A Christmas Present from Heaven

  christmas tree

In the many years I've known Jesus personally, He has never let me down. Not once. He has taught me what the real values in life are and what's really important. Sometimes this knowledge came with some pretty big challenges.

A lot of people don't know that the Bible clearly teaches that the things that appear to be, don't necessarily HAVE to be. (Hebrews 11:3  "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.")

Jesus said, "According to your faith, so be it to you." Or, in other words, what you have the faith for is what you will get. He also makes it clear that faith comes from believing His promises which say, "Ask and you shall receive." and "If you shall ask ANYthing in my name, I will do it.", etc. That explains the verse, "According to your faith be it unto you."

We can fully believe His promises. We don't have to believe our circumstances or conditions, not even condition of our body. I can give a personal example.

In 1998, late Christmas Eve, my husband and I had just gone to bed when I began to have a small pain in my chest (I know now that it was my gallbladder). Within one hour the pain increased till it was nearly unbearable. I couldn't lie down anymore and the only thing that seemed to help a little bit was walking.

So, I walked around and around the living room, but the pain kept increasing and by 3 a.m. it was so bad I was groaning. I walked faster, then 30 minutes later, it occurred to me to start quoting some Psalms that I know.

I started quoting Psalm 23: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want..." and so on.

As I quoted these verses I began to feel better. I was so tired I tried to lie down, but the pain came back stronger than ever.

I was exhausted and felt I could hardly walk another step, but then I remembered a verse of Scripture where Jesus said, "Whatever you desire, when you pray, BELIEVE that you receive it and you will have it."

I used that verse years before. At that time I desperately needed a miracle and the miracle happened. So I decided to use it again this time.

I kept repeating the quote and the pain became less and less, but didn't go completely away. As I wondered, and finally asked God, "Why?", it was like a voice said to me, "You're not acting like you believe it."

I wondered what that would involve and it was like I could hear a voice say, "If you really believe you're healed, what would you do?" and I thought, "I'd go to bed!" The reply was crystal clear: "Then go to bed!"

Our bed was up some stairs and as I started climbing, but kept strongly quoting that verse, "Whatsoever you desire when you pray believe that you receive..." and as I took each step up the ladder, the pain became less and less and less till, by the time I lay down in the bed, it was totally gone and I slept like a baby.

There isn't anything "special" about me. Anyone can experience these miracles. The Lord loves us all equally and in a special way for each individual.

He brings these tests to teach us how to trust Him and when we lean fully on His promises, the miracles come automatically.
