...Ashly Noel, aptly named, because she was a 1991 Christmas present, choosing December 14th to join the world.
I met her for the first time in 1993. After thinking her 'Nana B' lived in a telephone all these years, she hopped out of the car and with hand on hip said, "Well, it sure takes a long time to get here from Texas". With a vocabulary that a lot of adults would envy, she proceeded to tell me about her entire life up to the present, including the fact that son, Rob, was a great Dad and did I have any stories about him. Mercy....what an opportunity that was.
We celebrated Rob's 38th birthday while I was in Florida, which means that next year.....uh, hmm. Ashly picked up on that one real quickly and chuckled when she said, "then you'll both be 39, right?"
I had envisioned ballet slippers, frou frou dresses, and sleepovers, but she and Rob are into Soccer (has her own card), Little League, and BMX racing. Doing quite well at it too. {{Sigh}} These are the standings in BMX
