Garden Maiden - Watercolor
The Garden Maiden... My blossoms glow in the bright sunlit garden. They nod their heads in a gentle summer breeze. I watch them bow and shake on leafy branches. Their colorful blooms bending and changing. Shadows of purple and blue-green, cool and fresh Hold the morning’s dew and the night’s dampness. It soothes my lungs as I breathe the morning air. The peace of night blends with the dawning day. Birds and squirrels scamper about to find a meal. The branches quiver as they search the bushes. A nut here and an insect there are soon found. The hunters find their quarry and eat their fill. I notice a stirring among the elephant ears. They move to reveal a partially hidden form. It appears to be a beautiful young maiden I rub my eyes to be sure this is really true. She is blond with fair skin and blue eyes. Her pleasant face has a faint smile upon it. She moves gracefully about the garden. Appearing and disappearing from my view. I watch in fascination as she glides about. Her hands touch a blossom here or a leaf there. Her beauty matches the beauty of the flowers She is like a nymph, a fairy, a spiritual being. I dare not breathe so as to frighten her away. She doesn’t take notice or seem to see me. I only want this ethereal vision to last forever. My eyes are pleasured with this beauty. Then as fast as she appeared she vanished. Her form disappeared into the morning light. Vainly I try to catch one more glimpse. But only the blossoms nodded and bowed. Copyright - Fred L. Jinkins April 16, 2002 .
Murray Hollow near Cambridge, N.Y.
In 1963 my wife and I visited her folks who had this old Finnish farm in upper New York State close to the border of Vermont. We lived in the sauna which is the small building at the extreme right of the picture. There were three of us, my wife and I and a beagle named Toosa. Right behind the sauna was a small stream where we waded to escape the summer heat.
Blonde - Computer Art with Microsoft Paint
Using Microsoft Paint is an interesting way to experiment with different effects. I like the intensity of the colors and the ability to make changes. The wide selection of color is awesome.
