School's out, uh-huh!Well, almost. I have one final, and then I get to chill out for four days before the next summer session begins.
I love test days. I love walking into a computer lab where students are typing their papers in a frenzy. I always feel this surge of brain power, this surge of anxiety, coursing its way through everyone. It crowds the room; it generates a silent buzz. We feel it instead of seeing it, and our hearts seize up for a moment, our senses attuned to the humming thoughts of those around us. It's like an alert mental network, data streaming through pumping veins, available at a moment's notice. I can feel the room pulsating with knowledge. It's electric, crackling, flashing, explosive.
Oh, I never showed you how I did with last semester's goals:
To pass all my courses. Objective accomplished! To make at least two A averages. Objective accomplished!! To reward myself with hash browns from McDonald's if I get the rest of the A's on major grades. Being postponed some more. To write faithfully in all my journals--the one for German, the one for Social Psychology, the C-Skool one, my personal one, and this SADS one. Objective accomplished, in my opinion. To write my 25-page paper for Constitutional Design before the last minute. Objective FAILED, totally. To attempt the required readings, possibly falling no more than one day behind. Objective failed. Didn't do any readings. To be on time to my first class of each day. Objective failed. To take extra hours during Summer 2002 so I will have senior standing. Mission ongoing. To go out and have fun more often. It'll be a miracle if I have time for this one. Objective failed. Ha! School this summer is great, albeit harried. I've spent large amounts of time in the school library, making use of my computer fees and library fees. Such a waste of paper. Is it just my major(s), or does everyone else expend full packages of paper on just one class?
The rest of my time (that is, spare time) is spent overdosing on Roswell-related media. Yeah, I really ought to study. I'm a terrible student in the area of studying. I never do it. I'm so ashamed now.
Ah, my pretty hash browns...soon you will be mine! $3.97 and counting...
Must have 5 to reach Second Hash Brown Goal:
