Oh...I expected better from them. I'm looking at the generic site layout used by many malls in this area, including my local mall, First Colony Mall. What exactly are those graphics supposed to convey? They're so random...the site just looks oddly like some sort of online dating service (how I think one would look, anyway...). I also found a typo...they got Waldenbooks' phone number wrong in the directory. Hopefully, they correct it...otherwise someone named Rob Sowell will wonder why he gets so many calls from people looking for books...or other things. Poor guy.
  • "Where are you located? Could you give me directions from Tomball?"
  • "Um, hi...I'm looking for a book. I don't know the title or the author, but it's published by Simon and Schuster and has 378 pages. I think the cover has a dog on it?"
  • "I took my son in two days ago, and I've been giving him the medicine Dr. Bernstein prescribed. His temperature hasn't gotten any lower. Should I bring him in again?"
  • "I was wondering if you would be interested in several discount memberships to Sam's. Or is that something I'd have to talk to your boss about?"
  • "Is David there?"
  • "I was just in your store this morning, and I bought this one book. So obviously you must remember me, even if you didn't work the morning shift. I understand you store employees operate from a communal hive mind. Anyway..."
  • "This is Matt from Barnes & Noble calling for one of our customers. We're so kickass that way; we don't mind passing our business on to you. We love you; yes, we do!"
  • "I'm looking for a book called Introduction to Sociology. Do you have it?"

Agh, my classes! They're trying to kill me with reading and writing! And I think Dr. Musburger hates me! I feel so out of my depth in my classes now. I think all my classmates are older and wiser than me. Waaaaaaaah!

I've been participating in several research studies these past few weeks. I think the psych grad students have to do these big research studies before they graduate. Anyway, my Social Psych prof offers extra credit if we participate in studies for a certain number of hours.

I was in this one study where I sat and watched a succession of squares and diamonds flash across a computer screen, hitting the left and right arrow keys based on certain prompts. It was really sort of boring, or at least, I think it would be boring to most people. Somehow, for me, it was just the greatest thing to have nothing to do but sit in front of a computer, hitting keys at various intervals. So...relaxing. I accidentally fell asleep while I was doing it, but it was only for a second. I went to my last session yesterday and got debriefed. If anyone's interested in what the results show, just ask me.

My mom was talking to my dad's sister the other day and came to the realization that she has no idea what I'm studying. That was really pretty funny.

Ah, my pretty hash browns...soon you will be mine! $2.59 and counting...

Must have 5 to reach Second Hash Brown Goal: (three)
