Santos gave me something rather odd on Wednesday. It was the top flap of a Cheez-It box. To better comprehend this, take a look at this photo he took. Yeah, I know. Anyway, because I slept for 5 hours after I got home from school today, I decided I had the energy to make this. I wonder if Jim would be interested in this whole Cheez-It business?

There's something I've wanted to complain about. Invariably, the first question someone asks you when they find out you're in college is "What's your major?" First off, this is a really great way to piss off someone who's Undecided. Why is it any of their business? In high school, no one ever asked what my favorite class was. The next unwitting person to ask me what my major is will most likely have something underhandedly nasty happen to them.

One thing about the whole 'major' question is that I have no good answer, being Undecided. Once I tell people that, however, it's ADVICE TIME! Everyone, absolutely everyone, wants to tell me what I should major in. Hellooo! HELLOOO! Perhaps all this is inherently annoying to me because my parents don't question me about my school life at all. I'm used to being left on my own in this area, and it really bugs me when everyone decides to put in their two cents. Actually, in most cases, it's more like an entire dollar. Please, PLEASE, do not tell me about your own life. Uh-oh, I'm becoming irate.

Another thing that annoys me about this question is that I feel like people will judge me by my major. If I were to say something ambitiously difficult, like Optometry, they'd be really impressed and think I was a brainiac. If I said English, they'd think, Oh, no marketable skills, huh? So even though I'm no longer Undecided, I'm going to continue telling people this up until graduation. Not even my parents will know what I'm majoring in! Well, they don't particularly care, so this isn't an issue.

Just trying to make it more difficult for people to conveniently categorize me. No labels, please!

I wonder if I could major in something vague, just to confuse people? That would be kind of fun. Actually, Undecided is not a classification at UH, they've given it the lovely title "University Studies." Makes you sound more scholarly, I guess.

Must have 5 to reach Hash Brown Goal: (three)
