Brrr. First day of college. At least I didn't get lost. I don't quite understand how my friends keep getting lost.Well, the mystery of the $7.50 has been cleared up. The bookstore was supposed to get us a different book--one that costs $9.95 new. At least I work at Waldenbooks now, so I can just buy my school books there. It works out great! Also, the mystery of the Astronomy book was solved. I have the second edition of the book, and the one Dr. Reina wanted for our class was the revised second edition. How lovely.
You know something creepy? At UH, there really seem to be look-alikes for people I used to know at DHS. I was walking behind this girl, and she held a door open for me. When she turned her head a little, I almost thought she was Amber Kee. Also, there is a eerie similarity between a guy I saw at orientation and David Kiehnhoff. He had the same voice, same looks, same mannerisms. It was sooo freaky! I've mentioned these look-alikes to some of my friends at other universities, and they concur. I'm coming up with advantages for staying in town for college. One thing is that I'll always be at home, so no matter when my friends have their holidays, I'll be able to see them. What's best about living at home is that I don't feel homesick or anything. And I don't have to deal with a roommate. I would hate that so much!
I hate UH. I will never last for 4 years here. I can't wait to transfer! It's so hot. I'm 'nnoyed.
The way this is going, I'm going to have to keep a bike at school, so that I don't sweat myself into a puddle halfway through the semester. On the plus side, I went through the M.D. Anderson Library, with which I have fallen in love! They have shelves and shelves of books in German! Another beautiful thing? They have a juvenile books section. It's everything I loved in elementary and middle school! I don't think I'll bother going to class.
