Gen. 3:3. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.(Eve's answer)
There is much debate these days as to who is to blame for Eve's failure to follow God's command. Fault in the matter is of little concern at this point in time. What is of great import is that Eve, somewhere along the line, had a twisted or skewed the word of God. Perhaps Adam had rendered God's command incorrectly or maybe Eve added the words to it, I don't know, but the word Eve had was not the pure word of God, it was tainted. It was, for that reason, easy for Satan to come along and go back to the original command, changing only one word, and to sell his errant theology.
The world today is full of such salesmen, the Jehovah's Witness', the Mormon or L.D.S. Church and the followers of Mohammed to name just a few. If a Christian is unwilling to read for fifteen minutes a day for the rest of his life, the Word of God, I can sell him on any ridicules idea that I can dream up just so long as I move him away from the truth one step at a time.
You don't believe me? You had better study history, better yet look around you and compare our society today with the one you were a child in, there has been a major pyridine shift in religion, government, and even the entertainment industry since my childhood. New Agers are constantly attacking my public ministry today shouting that there are many paths to Heaven. Many are falling for this lie and thus the move to unite the churches into one universal religion.
Have you read God's word for you lately?
