Stuff about Me

This is my favorite verse!
Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
And we know that all things
work together for good
to those who love God,
to those who are the called
according to His purpose.

Howdy ... for those of you who don't know me, my name is Sarah. I'm a SENIOR microbiology major/ psychology minor attending Texas A&M University , one of the best schools in the nation (Class of '02 ... WHOOP!!!!). I've been here since the beginning of my freshman year, and I'm loving it. The Aggie spirit is something that I didn't even begin to comprehend until I got here; I don't even know how to put it into words, so I won't even try.

Coming back from that rabbit trail, let me tell you a little more about myself. I was born on June 8, 1981 in Galveston, making me a native Texan (whoop!). I moved around the country w/my family until we finally got back to Texas in 1989 ... we've been here ever since! I've known I wanted to be an Aggie for about as long as I can remember even though I did have a momentary sidetrack during my senior year of high school. I finally got it right though, and here I am!

I was homeschooled my entire life, but in answer to the questions I know I'm going to get, no, I am neither freakish nor socially inept. I personally loved homeschooling because it gave me so much more freedom to do some of the things that I wanted to do. I logged over 500 service hours during high school with various organizations, took 41 hours of dual credit work at Tomball College (34 of which applied to my degree at A&M), went to banquets and proms, and had all sorts of fun. I was definitely not one of the homeschool recluses! Now I'm working with the Homeschool Christian Youth Association to run a Sports Day for homeschoolers in the Bryan/College Station area. It is soooo much fun!!

Now that I'm about to graduate from Texas A&M, it's been time to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life, so here are my plans at the moment. I could really use your prayers right now because I am applying to the MD/PhD programs at several Texas schools. I do realize that this will take a large chunk of time out of my life, but I really believe that this is where God is leading me. It is SCARY to say the least, and I won't know for a while how I did on the MCAT, so keep me in your prayers!

Random stuff ... When I'm not studying (which is unfortunately often), I enjoy reading, watching movies, cooking, doing things with Aggie Sisters for Christ, taking pictures (especially of Bennett), and figuring out new ways to take over the world. My favorite color is blue. I love Monet and Renoir; one day I'm going to own a real one -- just wait and see. I'm not a very good dancer. I talk WAY too much. I don't snore (at least, not unless my allergies are REALLY bad!). I am currently single and enjoying it, but if God brings the right guy along, I wouldn't refuse to get to know him better. ;) Right now though, I don't feel too deprived ... I'm so busy enjoying life as it is!

Alrighty, enough rambling for now ... have a great day!
