| Contest Rules | |
| 1.) Each Entry must have been written by
an author with a primary residence in the
State of Texas at the time of submission,
OR entry must be set predominantly (minimum
75%) in Texas. 2.) Each Entry must have an original copyright of January 2000-December 2000, and must be published by a royalty paying publishing house in bound book form. No self-published books accepted. No Electronically published books accepted. 3.) The contest committee reserves the right to add, drop or combine categories, dependant upon the number of entries received; a minimum of 5 entries per category must be received to qualify that category. 4.) The Contest Committee will disqualify any entry that does not fully meet with all of the rules. 5.) Entry in the Texas Gold contest constitutes agreement by the author and/ or the entrant to conform to all contest rules, abide by the decision of the judges, and to hold blameless the East Texas Chapter, the Texas Gold Contest Committee, and all judges, and will not hold RWA-ETC responsible for judges' scores or comments. Decisions of the judges are final. 6.) Entry form and fee of $15 per title entered must accompany the books, and all entries must be received by the appropriate category coordinator by March 15, 2001. Once an entry is verified and accepted, there will be no refunds. 7.) Finalists will be notified by May 15, 2001 and winners announced by July 4th, 2001. 8.) You may enter as many qualifying books in their appropriate categories as you wish, providing that an entry form and fee accompanies each entry. If two titles are entered in the same category, then two forms and fees must be included. 9.) Entries will be accepted from authors, editors, agents or any other party who wishes to supply the Official Entry* required. |

Consists of: A) 4=copies of each title entered B) Check or money order for $15, made out to RWA-East Texas Chapter, and a signed and completed entry form. ($25 charge on returned checks.) C) Optional--SASP to notify you that your entry(ies) have been received. D) A #10 SASE *Entries will be judged by readers and booksellers. *Winners will receive a trophy/plaque plus publicity; all finalists will receive a certificate plus an announcement in the RWR plus "Texas Gold" labels. *Books will not be returned; score sheets returned only upon request in SASE you provide. *Send Official Entry to appropriate category coordinator listed below: |
