Letting Go
The course breezes
Of winter cross my face
I’m sent back to the last of our summers
The warmth, the friendship, and the love
The pain is no longer there and you are no longer here
As I lean in to kiss you the cold hits again
Everything so sharp and swift
Everything such a reminder
As the brown and gold casket is being lowered in front of me now
Touch me forever, but touch me no longer
I promise this time I will let you go
Love,
Lady
