The choice of following the path of spiritual enlightenment through witchcraft is one that should be entirely your own. You, and no other person, are in control of your destiny. To enter the craft, even if you think it is just to dabble, is a decision not to be made lightly or immediately. Some of you will go on to join small covens, others will join one of the wiccan churches that are springing up across the nation. There are those who will continue to practice the craft alone, and of course, there will be a few individuals who will migrate to other magical religions.
It is an accurate statement that the followers of witchcraft do not usually proselythize, which means you aren't going to find us standing on your local street corner, thumping our Book of Shadows. Nor do you have to worry about jumping out of the shower to answer our serene and smiling faces at the door with your clothes stuck to various uncomfortable places on your wet body.
But Just because we (hopefully) aren't the forceable type doesn't mean that we don't exist. Trying to find us, though, can be sometimes rather tricky. And honestly thats part of the fun.
Witchcraft is definately an enjoyable practice. There is no fear, no hatred, no cowering at divinity. Each of us has the right to enjoy all that the universe has to provide.
Spirituality is the hub of the wiccan religion. Without it, magical achievements quickly degenerate in the face of intricacies of every day life. Magick without divinity has been the reason for many downfalls, such as the decline of the Hexmiester Doctors in South Central Pennsylvania during the early twentieth century. Success in Witchcraft requires serious application of the mind guided by the spirituality of the soul. In other words, don't mess with magic if your heart isn't into positive stuff. Eventualy, you will fail. A good wiccan group focuses on spirituality not egocentricity. It is the same for solitary practioner. When spirituality is forgotten or pushed aside for the purpose of widening personal ponds, ritual becomes empty and the matrix of the group is permanently damaged.
We are all like the proverbial frog who strives to be comfortable in his/her pond. If we allow our pond to become stagnant, we lose. If we drain the spirituality from our pond, we lose. If we try to drag negative energies into our pond, upseting its balance, we lose. If we try to mess around in someone elses pond, we are subject to death by drowning. If we insist someone else share our pond with us, demanding our pond be widened to satisfy only ourselves and not the needs of others, the floods of destruction will come - no more pond.
Every human loses when spiritual balance is no longer important.
