What makes you believe so boldly?
Who are you to challenge conventional wisdom?
Why are you not dissuaded by all the evidence to the contrary?
We have science and religion and common sense on our side,
We have the things that people trust on our side.
Who are you to go against nature and the flow of things?
Stop making waves, cease your pushing against the currents
Fall into submission and be drown by the flow.
Others have gone against us . . .
Great men,
Forgotten men,
But all dead men.
So go ahead and nail your thesis to the doors.
Some will read it,
Most will scoff,
A few will even believe . . .
But not enough to change anything.
In the end, you will still be the crackpot that lives in the basement.
So go ahead, . . . we urge you,
Make a fool of yourself one final time
No one will believe you
No one wants to believe anymore
They have been subdued and will not listen
There was a time they might have believed,
But not anymore.
We give them what they want,
And they are satiated.
We dictate was is and isn't
What shall and shall not be.
We have ingrained in them
What we want them to know
What we want them to believe
And they thank us for it.
They give us the power
We give them the security.
So shout your message to the wind
It will go no further than that.
Heavy words do not settle easily on unwilling ears
You will find they will not listen
Choose your words wisely
You have so few left.
