"I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as quick as I could"

My name is Jon. I have been a blues/rock'n roll guitarist for as long as I can remember. My major influences are Jimi Hendrix and Alvin Lee My all - time favorite band is Led Zeppelin I grew up in Wyoming and first came to Austin in 1981 in an attempt to make it as a guitar player. Austin bills itself as "The Live Music Capital of the World" but the sad truth is that very few musicians can make a living here. This being my case, I ended up having to get a "real job" and be satisfied with the garage-band scene and occaisional open-mike jam sessions. My current set-up is a Gibson 1960 re-issue Les Paul, an early 70's Fender Stratocaster, - which I recently had autographed by Rick Derringer and a full Laney stack with numerous effect-pedals. I also have a great admiration for acoustic guitar and can't live without my Martin D-35. Click on the Les Paul to see a '95 double - shot of me with my "Classic"

I am happy to say that I have become a successful framing contractor thanks to all phases of the high - tech electronics industry setting up shop in the Austin area. All their people need places built to live in. Yes, Austin is booming! In addition to being a guitar enthusiast, I'm into the Harley-Davidson scene and will have some related links added in that field. Another major concern to me is the anti-gun establishment trying to strip us of our constitutional rights. You will also see links to that issue in the near future.
