Hi, my name is actually Jonathon Valenzuela, but anyone that's known me long enough calls me "Bubba," I guess because it's a nickname that's followed me from elementry school, through middle school, through high school, and finally seems to be unescapable. I believe that my personal influences are catorgorized by two different classifications: early and recent.
early:
About five years ago I met a guy named Angel Itubre(Boof) who was in a band called the Belvederes. The Belvederes, in my opinion, were one of the best bands I've heard. This guy gave me my first and only lessons and exposed me to most of the bands that I was so influenced by at the time. Some of these bands were Screeching Weasel, New York Dolls, the Queers, MC5, ect.. Some other bands that had influence on me were Fifteen, Digger, Rancid, and the Groovie Ghoulies.
recent:
some recent influences are Trail of Dead, At the Drive In, Wednesday, Modest Mouse, Get Up Kids, Knapsack, Puerile, and Dillinger Four.
