Silkk The Shocker

Silkk grew up in the 3rd Ward of the Calliope Projects in New Orleans. He moved to Richmond, Ca. after finishing elementary school and the death of his brother, Kevin Miller.

while in high school, he worked in his brother’s record store, No Limit Records. At the store he got his nickname of “Lil Silk”, for the way he acted towards people with his personality.

At the age of 13, he appeared on his older brother’s Master P’s records. He was featured on the album “True “ in 1995 with the other members of Tru.

When No Limit Record became a company, he released his debut album-“The Shocker” and changed him name to Silkk to avoid confusion with the R&B group Silk. He released his second album-“Charge It 2 The Game” in 1998 and a third “Made Man” in 1999. That sold a combined four million copies. He also released the 504 Boyz album that featured Master P and Mystikal and he exchanged lyrics with Mystikal on the popular song-“It ain’t my Fault.”

In 2000, he released “My World, My Way” that features the hit song-“That’s Cool” featuring Trina. A second version of the song features his nephew Lil Romeo.

He appears in the Master P movie-“The Last Don” and had the lead role in the movie “Hot Boyz” as Kool. He costarred in the direct to video movie-“Corrupt” with Ernie Hudson Jr. and Ice T. He is now working on the film-“Street Smarts.”
