Preparation for and including trip to Oceanside, CA

The Hood County Animal Clinic staff with Comet, his mom and dad and the appreciation certificate awarded to HCAC. They were all in tears when we left them after everyone had a chance to say their goodbyes.

Bell Helicopter gave Comet a 'retirement' party the day before we left for CCI in Californina. Over 50 people showed up and most didn't want any cake. They actually showed up to say goodbye to Comet. I managed to take off work early to attend it and I'm glad I did. My husbands' work has been a big supporter for us. My work, Lockheed Aeronautics, is a very large disappointment in that they won't even consider allowing Comet on the premesis. Such a shame and a loss for the workforce. Comet's attendance at Bell has improved the attitudes and production there, merely by his presence!

Well, we finally arrived at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA just south of Los Angeles. Comet had a hard time with his ears and the pressure in the plane. I managed to get him to 'chew' on my fingers to make his ears pop after takeoff. He slept the rest of the 2 1/2 hour flight.

Now we are at CCI's entrance in our usual cape Comet wears wherever he goes in public. Note who the facility is named for. Hint: Are you an avid bookreader? We met the couple at that evening's dedication to the new addition to the facility of dorms and kitchen and training room for the applicants.
