Harry Weldon HARRY ALLEN WELDON, 76, passed away on Feb. 4, 2009 in Abilene, TX. Burial was in the Eastland City Cemetery. Harry was born November 8, 1932 in Palo Pinto County to Raymond R. & Virginia (McFadden) Weldon. He was baptized in Graham, TX, when he was 14 and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ranger, TX. He graduated high school in Graham, & attended Ranger JR. College on a track scholarship. In 1952, he married Betty Jo Penn (RHS-1951) & they had three children. Also in 1952 Harry got the chance to see Rev. Billy Graham in person in Houston at the Rice Stadium with a crowd of several thousand people. Harry loved to fish and hunt as well as gardening and doing yard work. He spent several years refereeing for high school football games. He also enjoyed playing golf and was an avid 42 player. He loved music and especially making his own when he played his fiddle. In 1980 he married Darrell Williamson Emfinger. Harry held Plant Supervisor and Superintendent positions at Sarco/Alamo Athletics in Ranger, Fort Worth, & San Antonio, TX, Houston Fluids & was a Merchants Agent. He retired from Merchants and spent lots of time at Lake Daniels fishing. He was a devoted Mason for over 50 years. He loved his family and friends dearly and unconditionally. He spent time praying for them regularly. He loved keeping up with world events either by newspapers or by television. He loved to watch Joel Osteen and watched him as much as he could whenever he could. Family was most important to Harry and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by Darrell Weldon; three children, Dana Emfinger, Brenda Weldon and Dean Weldon; two step-children, Bobby G. Emfinger and Greg Emfinger; one sister, Charlotte Williams; 5 grandchildren, Shane Morrow, Carey Stewart, Cori Owen , Misty Kemppainen, Josh Weldon; 2 step-grandchildren, Chance Emfinger and Shama Emfinger Hernandez; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 3 nephews; 1 niece; and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his father and mother; a sister, Marjorie Burgess; and two grandchildren.
