Jo Colleen Hazard 78, of Abilene died October 6, 2009 at an Abilene Hospital.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Bullock Cemetery, north of Ranger under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.
Jo was born July 9, 1931 in Ranger to Brock (RHS-1923) and Madrid Odell (James) Hazard. She grew up in Ranger graduating from Ranger High School in 1948. She later attended Cisco Junior College and Hardin Simmons University in Abilene. She moved to Abilene in 1966 from Cisco. She worked for Southwestern Bell for 36 years 3 months, as a telephone operator for 27 years and as are Repeater Tech in the plant department the last 9 years. She retired in 1985. While working for Southwestern Bell, she worked in Ranger, Orange, Fort Worth, Cisco and Abilene. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cisco.
Jo is survived by her sister Sharon Arlene Hazard (RHS-1951) of Abilene, her brother and sister-in-law Billy Charles and Gaytha Gail Faircloth of Clyde, two nieces-Charlotte Ann Faircloth and Alisa Gail Faircloth both of Clyde, and three nephews Jordan Alexander Mills, William Charles Stegall, and Billy Miles Faircloth all of Clyde.
