Ranger Exes Memorial - The Faculty

Margaret McDonald MARGARET KELLY MCDONALD, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, teacher and friend, died suddenly on April 23, 2004 in Eastland, TX. Margaret was born in Dallas on July 31, 1926 & lived in various places in Texas throughout her childhood. She graduated from Sweetwater High School and the University of Texas at Austin. She taught school and married Keith McDonald in 1949. They moved to Ranger, TX in 1956, where their three younger daughters were born and all four attended school. She taught and earned her Masters degree from Southwest Texas State in 1967. She taught teenagers for 29 years, retiring in 1987. Her retirement was spent caring for her children and grandchildren, tutoring, reading and quilting. She recently made a family trip to North Carolina to attend the 200th anniversary of the first Kelly's landing on North American shores. At the time of her death, Margaret was survived by her husband, Keith McDonald of Ranger; two sisters, Ebb Jones of Wichita Falls and Helan Drake of Dallas; four daughters sons-in-law, Kelly (RHS-1971) & Dave Benbrook of Arlington, Sally (RHS-1974) and Mike Hebner of Abilene, Lili (RHS-1980) and Mike Knight of Stephenville, & Amy (RHS-1986) and Tony Rodriguez of Dublin; two granddaughters, Alison & Katherine Duke of Arlington; three grandsons, Keith Knight of Stephen- ville and Set and Wyatt Rodriguez of Dublin; numerous step- grandchildren and their families; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Knight of Stephenville. HUSBAND: KEITH E. MCDONALD, 85, beloved father, teacher and friend, died Aug. 12, 2013 in Stephenville, TX. He was born Sept. 28, 1927 in Nolan County, TX. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Margaret Kelly McDonald in Dec. of 1949 and they reared four daughters. He earned degrees from Texas Tech & Texas A&M, ranched, and taught Agriculture at various schools, including Strawn, TX. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ann Lee (McLaughlin) McDonald, brothers Weldon Earl and Morris McDonald, and his beloved wife, Margaret. He is survived by his daughters Kelly Benbrook (Dave) of Arlington, TX; Sally Hebner (Mike) of Abilene, TX; Lili Knight (Mike) of Stephenville, TX; and Amy McDonald of Dublin, TX. He was a loving grandfather and great-grand- father.
