Ranger Exes Memorial - The Faculty

Charlie Garrett CHARLIE LEE GARRETT, 76, died at Stephenville, TX in 1989, with interment in Murray Cemetery. He was born in Flatwood, TX & was a retired schoolteacher, teaching at Flatwood, Ranger and Carbon schools in Texas. He was Superintendent of the Gorman schools & mayor of Gorman from 1978 to 1988. At Ranger, he was a principal of Ranger High School. He was a charter member of the Lions Club for 25 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church. There is a Charlie Garrett Memorial Library in Gorman. His wife was Oma Dee Garrett. They had two sons Charles E. Garrett (RHS-1961) of Fort Worth & Jim Tom Garrett (RHS- 1968) of Carbon, a daughter Sue Garrett Nichols (RHS-1957) of Katy, a brother Blanton Garrett of Bryson, three sisters Drucie Montgomery, Lillie Mae Whisenant, and Frankie Cook, and eight grandchildren.
