DOUGLAS RAY CANNON of Mesquite, TX passed on to eternal
life on Nov. 16, 2006, surrounded by his family who
though heartbroken, are so thankful to have known and
loved him.
Doug was born on June 14, 1945 in Mineola, TX. to Robert
Lee Cannon and Alma Lois Galliton. He was an avid golfer,
fisherman and hunter. He was a star player for the Mineola
High School football team, and never lost his love of the
sport. Doug retired from Lucent Technologies after 27 years
and was employed at Baylor Health Care Systems the last
five years of his life. Doug was a member of Masonic Lodge
928 and Mesquite Elks Lodge # 2404, where he served as
Exalted Ruler in 1991 and as District Deputy Grand Exalted
Ruler in 1995.
At the time of his death, Doug was survived by his wife,
Lois; mother, Lois Curl; son, Wendell (Susan) Cannon;
daughter, Tammie (Gary) Green; son, Brandon (Stacey) Cannon;
stepsons, Randy (Wendy) Edwards, Tony Edwards and Jordan
(Chrissy) Edwards; three sisters, six grandchildren and one
great-grandchild, plus numerous other family and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by his father & beloved daughter,
Christy.
