DON NELSON, 63, was born on Jan. 12, 1942 in Nowata, OK. He went
to be with his Lord on Jan. 31, 2005.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Harry Nelson, Sr.
and Dorothy June (Minton) Nelson. He graduated from Putnam City
High School in 1960. He married Nina Sheridan New in June of 1961.
He was an electrical engineer for Western Electric for 8 yrs. He
graduated from Southwestern Seminary in 1976. He was a youth
minister in Alabama and Texas for 10 yrs. He touched many
children's lives. In 1980, he returned to Western Electric where
he retired in 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Sheri Nelson; three children, daughter,
Dana Elkins and husband Rusty of Edmond, OK; son, Brian Nelson of
El Reno, OK; son, Jerry Nelson and wife Kindra of El Reno, OK;
brother, Joe Nelson and wife Pam of Stillwater, OK; sister-in-law,
Lavonna Nelson of OKC; brother Bill Nelson and wife Carol of OKC;
four grandchildren, Ashley and Amber Elkins of Edmond, OK and Rees
and Ryane Nelson of El Reno, OK.
