CHARLES TOMMY BOTT JR., 56, of Abilene,
TX passed away on May 27, 2008.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1951 in Ranger TX to
Charles Toots and Nancy Lucille "Cindy" McNabb
Bott. Tom was a graduate of Ranger High School,
afterward he attended Texas Tech University and
the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated
in 1977 with a BS in Pharmacy from the University
of Houston and received his pharmacist license.
Tom was a pharmacist in Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene,
Strawn and several other locations until ill health
forced him to retire. He attended the Methodist
Church and had a strong faith, reading the bible on
a regular basis. Tom was not a social man, however,
he was a kind and gentle man. The profession he
choose, showed that he was a caring man, concerned
with others well being. One of his great joys was
collecting and trading guns and swords.

He is survived by his mother Nancy Lucille "Cindy"
Bott of Ranger, a son Jonathan Christopher Bott of
Abilene, a half-sister Nancy Jones (RHS-1958) and
husband Mac Jones (RHS-1956) of Ranger, and numerous
extended family and friends.
FATHER: CHARLES "TOOTS" BOTT 85, of Ranger,
TX died on April 2, 1997, with burial at Evergreen
Cemetery in Ranger.
He was born on July 26, 1911 to Thomas Ed and Mamie
Reasoner Bott in Thurber, TX. He worked at the
Thurber Drug Store when Thurber was a city of
10,000. He attended school in Thurber and played
in the Thurber band. He graduated from Strawn
High School and attended Ranger Junior College.
He graduated from Landig School of Mortuary Science
in Houston in 1938 and worked for 19 years as a
mortician and funeral director for Morris Funeral
Home in Ranger.
He married Nancy Lucille "Cindy" Graham in May of
1949 in Stephens County. He served for four years
during WWII after graduating from Randolph Field
Aviation School of Medicine as a flight surgeon
assistant. After retiring from Morris Funeral Home,
he worked for Swaney’s Pharmacy, later, Brown’s
Pharmacy. He was one of the first in Eastland and
Stephens Counties to raise registered Brahma cattle.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ranger.
Survivors at the time of his death include his wife,
Nancy L. Bott of Ranger; a daughter Nancy (RHS-1958)
& her husband Mac (RHS-1956) Jones; a granddaughter,
Kay and her husband Mark Dobbs, all of Ranger, and
their children, Clayton and Kakki; a grandson, Cody
and his wife Theresa Jones, and their children, Cody
Jr. and Clinton; a granddaughter, Kellie and her
husband Gary Dobbs, and their children, Jerry and
Cole; a son, Tommy Bott (RHS-1970) and his wife
Donna Bott of Abilene, and their children, Jonathan
Bott, Jeremy and Jayce Veal. Note: His brother, Ted
R. Bott, was born on Oct. 14, 1907 and died in Ranger
on April 15, 1994.
