John Caraway JOHN WAYNE CARAWAY, 66, passed away at his home Dec. 6, 2016 in Ranger, TX. John was born in Ranger, TX on March 3, 1950 to Ofer & Dora Caraway. He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1968/69. John had a well service company & worked well at that for forty years. John sure had a sense of humor and could make anybody smile. He never met a stranger and he would sit and talk with you for hours. He loved people and would give the shirt off his back. He took very good care of his family and loved every minute of it. John's hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, and playing music. John was preceded in death by his parents and two sons James Wells (RHS-1988) & Steven Wells (RHS- 1992); also a great grandson, Rowlyn Keyser. John is survived by his wife, Barbara Lynn Caraway of Ranger; his brother, Ofer Jackson, Jr. Caraway (O.J., RHS-1967) and his wife Judy. He is also survived by his children, John Caraway (JR, RHS- 1997) and his wife Ashley, Jerry Wells (RHS-1984) and his wife Vickie, Mike Wells (RHS-1987) & his wife Toni, Jammie Lynn Caraway Wilson (RHS-2002) and her husband Whitt Wilson (RHS-2002) all of Ranger. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hunter Caraway, Justin and Mat Wells, Meagan, Stormy, Crystal, Heather, and Tyler all also of Ranger. John was blessed with numerous great- grandchildren, and 2 nieces, Alisha and Sonya. John will be dearly missed. WIFE: BARBARA LYNN CARAWAY, 77, a cherished mother, granny and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on Dec. 29, 2024 surrounded by her family, with interment was at Macedonia Cemetery in Stephens County, TX. Barbara was born on Aug. 3, 1947 in Jefferson, TX. She was a beautiful soul who was hardworking, strong and generous beyond belief. Her love language was cooking, no one went hungry in her presence. Barbara enjoyed working in cafe's and owned several throughout her lifetime and enjoyed connecting with the community. Barbara was passionate about her husband, John Wayne, who was the love of her life and she loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. Her hobbies included sewing, crafting, fishing, camping and going to the casino to play her slot machines. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Caraway; three sons, Michael, James and Steven Wells and numerous other beloved family members. She is survived by her siblings; Wayne Davlin and wife, June of Ranger, Glenda Thompson of Saginaw, Tommy Wells and wife, Patty of Colorado City; her son, Jerry Allen Wells and wife, Vicki Lynn of Odessa; grandchildren, JC and Seila Stone, Justin Wells, Heather Beeman, Meagan and Tommy Keyser, Zachary and Chelsea Stone, Mat and Tamarah Wells, Stormy Wells, Crystal and Daniel Plascencia, Tyler and Kelsey Wells, James Wells, Jr. and numerous great-grandchildren.
