Wilburn Dawson Virginia Dawson WILBURN LEE "WILLIE" DAWSON of Ranger, TX died on May 17, 2006. Wilburn graduated from Young School in 1954 with the RHS Class of 1960. He retired in 2000 from Plains Oil, formerly Permian Corporation after 34 years of service. He was blessed with many friends and neighbors in the area and was a member of the Leon Cowboy Church of Olden. He is survived by his wife Virginia Dawson of Ranger; a son, Ronny Dawson (RHS-1980) of Ranger, a daughter Janice Dawson Young (RHS-1981) and husband Coy (RHS- 1980) of Ranger; 5 grandchildren, Ladonia Dawson of Houston, Lance Corporal Cody Young of California, Jamie and Katie Young of Ranger and Derek Dawson of Ranger; a sister Maxine Cole and husband, Junior, of Ranger; a brother Dewey Broward and wife Lorrine of Kilgore; as well as several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ladonia and Albert Dawson, 3 brothers and a daughter-in-law. WIFE: VIRGINIA ANN ROGER DAWSON, 76, of Granbury, TX passed from this life on July 31, 2018. Mrs. Dawson was born in 1942 in Kermit, TX to Ed & Eunice Rogers. She married Wilburn Lee Dawson (RHS- 1961) in March of 1960 in Stephens County, TX. She was a loving, kind, sweet and caring woman who always had a smile on her face. She was a hairdresser in Ranger, Texas for many years. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Wilburn Lee Dawson, parents Ed & Eunice Rogers, six brothers, and five sisters. Virginia is survived by a daughter, Janice Dawson Young (RHS-1981) of Granbury, TX and a son Ronny Dawson (RHS- 1980) and wife Mary Dawson of Ranger, TX. Beloved Jo Williams of Granbury, TX; sister Jo Lester of Woodson, TX, sister Lois Covey of Ranger, TX; brother Henry Rogers and wife Bernadene Rogers of Star, TX; grandchildren Ladonia and husband Lloyd Tanner, Cody Young, Jamie and Husband Brett Logan, Katie Young, Angel York, Evie Kisner and Derek Dawson;; & five great-grandchildren Trenton, Case, Hayden, Tyson and Zane, along with many nieces and nephews. Note: Her sister, Lois Covey Billman, passed away on Oct. 26, 2022 at the age of 88.
