Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1957 RJC

Elizabeth Seymour Nowak ELIZABETH JOYCE SEYMOUR NOWAK, 82, of Dodson Prairie in Palo Pinto County, TX passed away peacefully from this life to the next on Feb. 13, 2022 with her sons at her side. She was born Aug. 6, 1939 in Eastland County, TX. In 1957, she graduated from Ranger High School & attended Ranger Jr. College in Ranger, TX. She married her husband of over 60 years in July of 1958 and went on to become a successful full-time wife and mother. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Mineral Wells. Her wish was to be cremated and a memorial is not planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Dementia Studies Foundation Inc. in her name. She is preceded in death by her parents Willard Seymour & Dorothy Carr and her husband Charles H. Nowak. She is survived by her sons Ricky Nowak of Strawn, TX and Rusty Nowak and his wife Marlene of Ft Worth, TX, brothers Robert Seymour (RHS-1965) of Olden, TX, Kenny Seymour (RHS-1967) and his wife Billie Sue of Ranger, TX, sister Donna Nowak Hogan (RHS-1969) and her husband Pat of Eastland, TX, also survived by several nephews and nieces, cousins, and relatives. HUSBAND: CHARLES H. NOWAK, 82, passed from this life to the next on April 30, 2020. Charles Herman Nowak was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Strawn. He graduated from Strawn High School and went on to be employed as a warehouse supervisor for Siemens in Arlington. He married Elizabeth Seymour in July of 1958, in Ranger. After retiring he returned to Strawn 26 years ago. Mr. Nowak was very active in his church, Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Mineral Wells. He always assisted with the Lent fish fry, and was active in Knights of Columbus. Charles was a regular attendee of the ACTS Retreat, was a member of the Sons of Hermann and enjoyed motorcycles, model aircraft, camping and hiking. He was preceded in death by his parents; & brothers, Louis and Monroe Nowak. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Nowak, of Strawn; sons, Ricky Nowak, of Dodson Prairie, and Rusty Nowak and wife, Marlene, of Fort Worth; and a grandson, Trent Nowak, of Peaster. MOTHER: DOROTHY BOWEN SEYMOUR CARR, 84, of Ranger, TX died on July 16, 2005, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Dorothy was born in Colony Community north of Ranger on March 9, 1921, to Pearlie Mae Mills and Oliver Calvin Bowen. She was a graduate of Colony High School and attended one year of college. She worked as a supervisor for Harv-Al Athletic Supplies for 20 years. She lived all of her life in Ranger and married Williard Seymour in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ranger and enjoyed painting, sewing, crafts, cooking and was a loving and generous person. She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Nowak (RHS- 1957) and husband Charles of Dodson Prairie, TX; Robert "Butch" Seymour and wife Vickie of Olden, TX; Kenneth Wayne Seymour and wife Billie Sue of Ranger; and Donna Hogan (RHS-1969) and husband Pat of Eastland, TX; and a niece, Jackie Bush and husband Alford of Ranger; three sisters, Mae Isabel, Una Beck and Pauline Breneman, all of Ranger; eleven grandchildren, Ricky, Rusty, Shane, Cindy, Lisa (RHS-1989), Kenny, Jr. (RHS-1993), Kristen (RHS-2002), Keya, Tammy, Will and Jerry; eight great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
