ELAINE WOLFE STROUD DAVIES, 78, of
Bloomingdale, IN died on Dec. 18, 2009, with
burial in the Bloomingdale Friends Cemetery.
She was born June 12, 1931 in San Francisco, CA
to the late Patton Curtis Wolfe & Dorothy Fern
Tennille Wolfe. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years William
D. Davies whom she married in 1955 in Carrizozo,
NM; also surviving, two daughters, Sheila (Rick)
Landes of Bloomingdale, Sondra (Joel) Clendenin
of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two sons, Zane (Kelly)
Davies of Bloomingdale & Shane Davies of Bloomingdale;
one brother, Ted Stroud of New Mexico; half-sister,
Jimmie Stroud Williams (RHS-1960) of Ranger, Texas;
step-sister, Jackie Peltz of California; one aunt,
Ruth Quinn of California; ten grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Chet Walker
Davies. She was a member of the Bloomingdale Friends
Meeting Church, Red Hat Society, Renegade Saddle
Club, active in community affairs, she served on
the Parke County Fair Board, Parke County Soil and
Water Conservation District and was active with the
Parke County 4-H Horse and Pony Club.
