JACK WELDON COLE, 78, of Duncanville, TX, died
Sept. 29, 2008, with interment at Little Bethel
Memorial Park.
His sister was Joyce Cole Muse (RHS-1948) of
Centennial, CO. Jack was president of his
Ranger High School graduating Class of 1947
at Ranger, TX. He was the son of Luetta Pearl
Hannah (RHS-1926) & Odell Cole, born in Ranger
on Dec. 14, 1929 to Weldon O. & Lucetta Hannah
(RHS-1926) Cole. Jack retired as Manager of
the Gas Control Dept. of Lone Star Gas Co. in
1990 after 40 years of service. He was a life-
time member of the Methodist Church.
Jack Weldon was preceded in death by his wife,
Rachel; and a son, Tim.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his
children, Weldon Cole, Kathy Thomas & her husband
David, Debbie Hunt & her husband John, Lydia Center
& her husband Wesley, Brian Ethridge & his wife
Yvette, Sarita Cole; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-
grandchildren; sister, Joyce Muse; and numerous
other family & friends.
FIRST WIFE: NELDA MYRLENE GRIFFIN COLE was a 1948
graduate of Eastland HS. She was the mother of
Richard Weldon Cole, Timothy Gene Cole (deceased),
Mary Kathleen Cole Thomas, Debra Ann Cole Hunt,
and Sarita Lea Cole. Jack and Myrlene were married
in November of 1950, in Eastland. Myrlene died
May 8, 2001 in Duncanville, TX.
WIFE: RACHEL I. HILL ETHRIDGE COLE was born August 19,
1936, in Port Arthur, TX and died March 11, 2000,
at Duncanville, TX. She was married to Jack Weldon
Cole (RHS-1947). Lydia Ethridge Center and Brian
Lee Ethridge were her children from her first marriage.
