Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1947

Bob Carroll ROBERT L. "BOB" CARROLL, 77, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2008, with interment at Merriman Cemetery near Ranger, TX. Bob was born in Ranger in 1930 and spent most of his life in and around Eastland. He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1947. He started working when he was 15 and continued until just days before his death. He and his late wife Lucille Carroll formed B C Construction Company in 1957. He was an icon in the construction business & volunteered his equipment and materials to many local projects in and around Eastland. Other aspects of his business included rock mining, highway construction, concrete work & trucking. Bob's most honorable trait was his generosity - to not only family members, but everyone fortunate enough to touch his life. He also enjoyed fishing and ranching. Bob was preceded in death by Lucille Walton Carroll, his loving wife of 57 years; his parents, Robert and Maude Carroll; and a brother, Ron Carroll (RHS-1954). He is survived by: his two daughters, Sherry & husband Jim Green, and Judy and husband Charles Orms (RHS-1968); grandsons, Bryan Orms and wife Angie, Brandon Orms and wife Keri, Russell Orms and wife Heather, and Justin Green; granddaughter, Kristin and husband Scott McKay; four great-granddaughters, Ashlyn Orms, Holland Orms, Abigail and Avery McKay; and two great-grandsons, Austin and Andrew Orms. Also surviving Bob are his two sisters, Hazel Gourley (RHS-1948) and Helen Frank (RHS-1957) and husband Ralph (RHS-1954).
