Viola Seay Boyer VIOLA "VI" SEAY BOYER, 95 of Ranger, TX passed away May 13, 2023, with burial in Alameda Cemetery near Ranger. Vi was born Oct. 6, 1927 in Gorman, TX to Sam and Gladys Seay. She grew up in and around Ranger. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Ranger, now a member of Eastland First Baptist Church as of 2015. She graduated from Ranger High School in 1946, received a Bachelor of Science and Art degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, & a Master of Education in Stephenville, TX. She taught Sunday School since she was 11 years old. She taught in public school for 38 years. She taught in Albuquerque, NM for 13 years (1960-1973), Lampasas, TX (1973-1974), Smithville, TX (1974-1975), Breckenridge, TX (1975- 1976), and Ranger, TX (1976-1998). She taught and loved her children from kindergarten to Jr. High. She was married to Carl A. Boyer in Dec. of 1960. They were married for 42 years. They met while she was teaching in Albuquerque, NM, where they both taught school. She was preceded in death by her father & mother; husband; sister and brother-in-law, David & Margie Seay (RHS-1946) Weems; brother and sister-in law, Martin (RHS-1948) and June Seay; & brother-in-law Bill Harper (RHS-1951). Survivors include a stepdaughter, Cher Boyer Rivera; a sister, Pearl Seay Harper (RHS-1952); brother and sister-in-law, Fred (RHS-1955) and Carolyn Seay; an dear friends, Mary and Cliff Mathis and Aubrey and Cindy Perrella; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
