RUFUS "JACK" BROWNING, 74, was born July 6, 1926, to
Ruth Whitefield and Thomas L. Browning and was in the
Ranger High School Class of 1944 at Ranger, TX. He
married Jane Moon and they had 3 children, two sons,
David and Greg and one daughter, Lorri. Jack was a
coach and teacher in small West Texas towns & finally
Odessa. After retiring, they moved to Brady where he
went into real estate and politics and where he was
living when he died on Father's Day, June 17, 2001.
He had two sisters, Tommy Ruth Browning Norton (RHS-
1946), who lives in Paris, TX , and Sharon Browning
Davis (RHS-1961) of Cisco, TX; and a brother Lynn
Douglas Browning (RHS-1964).
