META ANN SCOTT PENN, 83, of Stone Mountain,
GA, died Dec. 23, 2008. She was born on Feb. 5, 1925
in Ranger, TX to Thomas B. & Anna Jones Scott. Meta
attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1942 &
married Charles O. Penn who died in 1997. Mrs. Penn
retired from Dekalb County School System where she
taught high school business classes. Following her
retirement she volunteered as a massage therapist
at Shallowford Hospital and as a tour guide at the
Governors Mansion.
She is survived by: 3 sons and their wives Chuck
and Suzan Penn of Stone Mountain, Bruce and Nancy
Penn of Lilburn, and Scott Penn of Fort Lauderdale,
two grandchildren Jennifer & Shannon Parsons, also
two great-grandchildren Marleigh & Evan Bolton. She
was preceded in death by her husband Charles Penn
and a brother John Thomas Scott (RHS-1935).
