Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1942

NONA PUGH VINSON, 75, died on Nov. 3, 2000, with interment in Merriman Cemetery near Ranger, TX. Mrs. Vinson was born in Ranger to David and Mittie (Burks) Pugh. She attended grade school at Merriman school which was founded by her grandfather. She also attended Cooper school and Ranger High School in the Class of 1942. She married Perry "Buddy" Vinson in Ranger. She was a member of the Merriman Baptist Church, and a homemaker, mother & artist. Survivors at the time of her death include her husband, Perry "Buddy" Vinson of Ranger; two daughters Sandra "Sandy" Vinson Yarbrough (RHS-1961) of Eastland & Sherry Vinson Herrington (RHS-1963) of Ranger; a son David "Smoky" Vinson (RHS-1964) of Ranger; a brother, Buck Pugh (RHS-1938) of Ranger; a sister, Barbara Vinson Wheat (RHS-1948) of Ranger; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her sister was Davie Pugh Estes (RHS-1930). HUSBAND: PERRY F. "BUDDIE" VINSON, 91, of Ranger, TX went home to be with his Heavenly Father, June 13, 2013 after a short illness. Burial was at Merriman Cemetery near Ranger. Buddie was born March 15, 1922 in Eastland County, TX to Williams Shirley and Susie Mae Casey Vinson. He was a life long resident of Ranger. He married Nona Louise Pugh (RHS-1942) in 1941. Buddie joined the U.S. Army in 1942 during WWII and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater & Philippine Liberation. Buddie was also a member of the Masons. Buddie own and operated Vinson TV & Appliance in Ranger and worked there until he handed the reins over to his son. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters. He is survived by his son David Vinson (RHS-1964) of Ranger, 2 daughters - Sandy (RHS-1961) and husband Raymond Yarbrough of Eastland, Sherry (RHS-1963) and husband Larry Herrington (RHS-1965) of Ranger and a sister Nellie Sue (RHS-1960) & her husband Terry Warren of Eastland, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Buddie is also survived by a host of other relatives.
