VERA ANN VAUGHN DOFFER was born to Mary Anne
Wood & Hobart Horace Vaughn. She was in the Ranger High
School Class of 1940 at Ranger, TX and married Robert F.
Doffer. They lived in Perryton, TX, and Vera Ann died
there on Jan. 25, 2004, with burial in the Perryton
Cemetery.
She attended Ranger Jr. College and during the war lived
in Fort Worth with her sister Louise Vaughn Powell, whose
husband was stationed at Carswell, and Vera Ann worked at
Consolidated Vultee.
They had two children, a daughter Pamela Sue, who is
deceased and a daughter, Elizabeth "Tizzy", and several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vera Ann had three sisters, Mattie Louise Vaughn Powell
(RHS-1937), Patsy "Sue" Vaughn Wilkerson (RHS-1949),
and Jewell Katherine "Kay" Vaughn Wylie (RHS-1956) of
Chicago, IL.
