MEMORIES OF MY MOTHER
Momma loved music and art. She had always looked forward
to her retirement so she could paint more. She greatly
enjoyed attending musical or dance or theatrical perform-
She loved to reminisce about Ranger and her family and
friends. It was always a treat for us (as children or
adults) to make the trip up to Ranger in her company
and get to see Pop and the aunts and uncles and cousins
I was often “drafted” to fill a table for Momma and her
brothers/sisters/in-laws hours-long sessions of Forty-Two
(dominoes). While I was a very weak player, it was a so
much better alternative to their having to cease playing.
She did get to attend a couple of the Ranger High reunions,
and they always revitalized her. She and we (her children)
are the sum of her life’s experiences. My warmest regards
and best wishes to all who had the opportunity to know her.
