VERA LANITA DAVIS WALTON, 82, died Nov. 11,
1998 in Abilene, TX, with burial in the Crossroads
Cemetery near Ranger, TX.
Mrs. Walton was born on June 10, 1916 in Seymour,
TX to Jacob and Vera Walker Davis. She attended
Ranger High School in the Class of 1933 and lived
in Ranger most of her life. She married Edgar
Isaac Walton and worked in the registrar's office
at Ranger Jr. College for several years. She was
a member of First Christian Church
Survivors at the time of her death include two sons,
Hal Walton of Ranger and Tom Walton (RHS-1958) of
Amarillo; three daughters, Jennie Walton Rawls (RHS-
1961) of Belton, Martha Jo Ervin of Cortez, CO, and
Peggy King of Ranger; one brother, Jo Davis of
Albuquerque, NM; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grand-
children; one great-great-grandchild; and one niece
and one nephew.
