DUANE L. BASSETT, 83, died on Feb. 24, 1994 in
Dublin, TX, with burial in the DeLeon Cemetery
at DeLeon, TX.
Duance was born on Nov. 3, 1910 in Downing, TX
to the late Richard H. & Mary Amanda Boyd Bassett.
He attenfed Ranger High School in the Class of 1930
at Ranger, TX. In April of 1931, he married his
classmate Willoughby "Bee" Kelly (RHS-1930). She
preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 1979. Duane owned
Bassett's Feed Store until 1951 & later worked for
Fincher's & Golden Oak Milling Co. Duane was a
Protestant and lived in DeLeon most of his life.
Survivors included 4 daughters: Barbara Davis of
DeLeon; Joyce West of Kingston, OK; Linda Kinnard
of Abilene; & Judy Wren of Irving; brothers: J.C.
Bassett of Dublin; sister: Mary Corbell of DeLeon;
three sister-in-laws: Ramona Miller-Sunset; Hazel
Bassett of DeLeon; & Foncille Roling of Irving; and
also nine grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Gaston,
Carlton & Walton Bassett; & sister: Esteen Piper.
