Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1930

Hazel Litton Phipps HAZEL LITTON PHIPPS, 94, passed away peacefully on Sept. 19, 2007 in Midland, TX, with interment was at Fairview Cemetery. She was born on Oct. 21, 1912 in Stephens Co., TX, to the late James & Minnie Litton. Hazel was raised and educated in Ranger, TX where she graduated from Ranger High School. She later attended Ranger Business College. After World War II, she met & later married the late Isom Loal "Bud" Phipps in 1947 at Monahans, TX. Hazel was a homemaker and a full-time mother and grandmother. She always placed the needs of others above her own. Her ministry was to help and serve others. She was a loving and caring mother, grand- mother and mother-in-law. She attended First Assembly of God and Calvary Assembly of God in Midland. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Isom Loal "Bud" Phipps; one brother J.D. Litton (RHS- 1937); her parents and two sisters, Fern Mace (RHS-1933) and Lavelle Sides. She is survived by her son, Loal W. Phipps and wife Sandy of Midland; her daughter, Jeannie Satterfield and husband Johnny of Greenwood, TX; three grandchildren: Brennen Phipps of Big Spring, Chantilly Satterfield of Lubbock and Sterling Satterfield of Greenwood; three step-grandchildren: Robin Willmon of Scottsboro, AL, Jay Satterfield of Greenwood and Connie Vorhesis of Yukon, OK; two great grandchildren: Ethan Phipps & Evan Phipps: nine step-great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
