(Page 24, panel 1. Cissie pulls out a fancy dress, and holds it up. A look of sheer terror is splattered on Quickshot's face.)
Cissie: I want to be a model.
Quickshot: A… model?
(Panel 2. Quickshot rushes up to Cissie. She is shocked, hurt, and angry.)
Quickshot: Mom, how could you do this to me!? I won't exist if you become a model!
Cissie: I've given up the hero thing. I really think a model is the way to go.
(Panel 3. Quickshot starts fading out. Tears come from her eyes.)
Quickshot: No… Mother… please don't do this… to… me…
(Panel 4. Quickshot vanishes, disappearing.)
Robin: The world has lost a good hero today, Cissie.
Cissie: I know… but it's the choice I have made. I may regret it later, but right now, I want to do this.
(Page 25, panel 1. Later. Bonnie and Frank are walking away from the building.)
Frank: Well, all's well that ends well.
Bonnie: Yea…
(Panel 2. Frank turns to Bonnie.)
Frank: I sense a little sadness in your voice. You should be happy that your daughter will be famous.
Bonnie: Well, if that's what will make her happy, I will go along with it…
(Panel 3.)
Frank: You wanted her to be a superheroine again, didn't you?
Bonnie: Pretty obvious, hm? Well, you know what they say about the best-laid plans of mice and men….
(Panel 4. Frank and Bonnie walk off into the sunset.)
Bonnie: But as long as Cissie's happy, I will go along with it.
(Page 26, panel 1. Epilogue. Years later, a thirtysomething Cissie is dressed in a businesswoman's outfit. She is holding a briefcase and waiting for an elevator in a tall building.)
Cap (N1): Metropolis, in the future.
Cap (N2): Supermodel Cissie King-Jones has had a long career as a model.
Cap (N3): Right now, she is going to a meeting to check on her line of cosmetics.
(Panel 2. As Cissie waits for the elevator, Wonder Girl, now thirtysomething herself, enters. She too is in a gray businesswoman's outfit, and carrying a palmtop computer.)
Wonder Girl: Cissie?
Cissie: (turns) Cassie?
(Panel 3. The two give each other a friendly hug.)
Cissie: It's been way too long, Cassie.
Wonder Girl: Yea, I've been through a lot with life.
(Panel 4. The two part.)
Cissie: So how's K'on these days?
Wonder Girl: Oh, the usual Peter Pan thing. He's been playing with Ler-El a lot.
(Panel 5.)
Cissie: Ah, your kid. You know, I wish I had gotten married and had a kid sometimes.
Wonder Girl: Well, believe me, I've got two children at home, and that's more than enough.
(Page 27, panel 1. The elevator comes, opening up and letting people off.)
Cissie: Yea, I'm pretty sure that Bart by himself would have been more than enough to handle.
Wonder Girl: Well, he's supposed to be expecting a kid with that woman he married.
(Panel 2. The elevator continues to let people off.)
Cissie: Now there's a scary thought. Then again, that's what they said initially about you and K'on having a kid.
Wonder Girl: Yea.
(Panel 3. Cissie and Wonder Girl move towards the elevator, hoping to get on board.)
Cissie: I really can't complain about what has happened to me, though. I mean, not many women have a long-term modeling career, which leads to a cosmetics line and a fragrance of their own. I've got enough money in the bank to retire comfortably.
Wonder Girl: True, and K'on and I have been happy too.
(Panel 4. The two of them enter the elevator with several other people around them.)
Cissie: Well, life is always full of choices… and some of them you just can't go back on.
