Is there a correlation, between the 7 days of Creation and the years man has on the earth? In Psalms 90:4(NIV) Moses prays “For a thousand years in Your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.” In 2 Peter 3:8 (NIV) “… With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” The earth was created in six days, and God rested the seventh day and declared it Holy, to be set apart, to Him. Could it be that man has six thousand years, plus one thousand years of rest, that God declared Holy, and set apart to Him, during which Christ Jesus will reign here on earth?
To calculate the years, from creation, one
need only to add the years of Adam at the time of Seth’s birth, 130 (Gen. 5:3)
to the years of Seth at Enosh’s birth, 105, giving you the year “From Creation”
or “FC” of 235 FC (Gen. 5:6,) and so on.
2 Peter 3:1-9
“Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up
your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be mindful of the words which
were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the
apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come
in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is
the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things
continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by
the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water
and in the water, by which the world that
then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same
word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly
men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand
years as one day. The
Lord is not slack concerning His
promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing
that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
In Revelation 1:8 the Lord Jesus declares
that He is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and Omega, who was and who is
and who is to come. He also says in Isa. 46: 9-10 & Isa. 48: 3 that He has
prophesied from the beginning the end. So let us look at the beginning to see
if that is so…
The
first day…
In the
beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form,
and void; and darkness was on the
face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the
waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw
the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from
the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So
the evening and the morning were the first day.
On the first day, He created Light, not the
natural light. He created the sun and moon and all the stars on the fourth day.
The Light He created on the first day was an unnatural Light, a super-natural
Light. {The Hebrew word is ‘or and means as the dawn. Prov. 4:18 speaks of our
light growing ever brighter as we walk with Him. In other words we become more
and more aware of the spiritual realm as we walk with God.} In the first thousand years, He created the
earth and everything on it, including man whom He imbued with the Holy Spirit.
Then He told man, as He had the other creatures, to be fruitful and multiply.
Then came the fall, and man went forth to populate the earth, and the Light
went with him, for although man now had a fallen nature, which separated him
from God, God’s Holy Spirit remained with him. In short, on the first day God
said “Let there be Light.” And in the first thousand years, God’s Light (the
Holy Spirit) went with man into the earth.
The second day…
Gen 1:6-8 And
God said, “Let there be an expanse between the water to separate water from
water.” So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from
the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse “sky.” And there was
evening, and there was morning- the second day. (NIV) “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day
of the second month (or 2-17-1656 FC), on that day all the springs of the great
deep burst forth, and the floodgates of heaven were opened. And rain fell on
the earth forty days and forty nights.”
The account of
the second day, pertains mostly to water, {and in this case the word waters
also means a washing. Washing is a reference I believe to the work of the Holy
Spirit. God proved Himself to the Israelites many times over in the trek out of
Egypt and through the wilderness and then again in the establishing of the
nation of Israel in the Promised Land in reference to His being the waters and
also of cleansing in the Law of Moses.} I don’t believe it is mere coincidence
that the flood occurred in the second thousand years, 1,000 to 2,000FC. This is
one of two accounts, as far as fulfilling the reference in the second day. The
second, I believe, is even more pertinent. When it comes to the Bible, as I
said before, I don’t believe in coincidence. Israel was reborn, as a nation, in
1948. As I counted the years from creation, it hit me like a rock when I found
that Abraham, through whom, Israel was first born, the Father of Israel, was
born in 1948 FC. It was with Abraham, that God made the covenant that set apart
the Israelites for Himself, as His chosen people. We see clearly here
separating people from people, or waters from waters {God by Holy Spirit in
this dispensation of grace has marked His people with the Holy Spirit in power,
love, and sound mindedness, again the waters of God} . This covenant was
‘struck’ when Abraham was about fifty years old, close to the end of the second
day or second thousand years
The third day…
“Then God
said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place,
and let the dry land appear”; and it
was so. And God called the dry land
Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw
that it was good. Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb
that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was
so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And
God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the third day.”
This is the Exodus of Israel out of Egypt
into the wilderness to meet with God. Ex. 12:31 The Israelites wondered in the
wilderness (the dry ground) about 40 years. This occurred From Creation at
approx. 2720. God also gave the Law and the Tabernacle to Israel here {which
are a type and shadow of the fulfillment in the NT with the Christ and His
church}.
The forth day…
“Then God
said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day
from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;
“and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on
the earth”; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to
rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.
God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to
rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the
darkness. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning
were the fourth day.”
The Sun, Moon, and stars were established.
Approximately 4000 years after creation, (the beginning of our calendar, year
0) Jesus, the “Son” of God, was born as “The light of the world” (Jn. 1:1-5).
He is the “Spiritual Light” as the Sun is the physical light. After the
Resurrection of our Lord, He gave us His authority (Mt 28:18-20), and as we are
also told that “whoever follows Him will never walk in darkness, but have the
Light of life (Jn 8:12). We were also told to “Let our Light so shine before
men, that they may see our good deeds, and praise our Father in Heaven (Mt
5:16). “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory…”(2 Cor
3:18) (as the Moon reflects the Sun) Jesus told us that the Signs of His coming
would be “For many will come in My name…” “…wars and rumors of wars…”, “Nation
will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famine and
earthquakes in various places” (Mt 24:4-7) In short, Jesus is the greater
light, the Sun. We the church are to reflect His light, the Moon. And Jesus
told us of the “signs” of His coming.
Before we go on I’d like to mention that
the account of the resurrection of Lazarus in John 11:1-54, not only leads to
the prophecy of Caiaphas, but also that Lazarus (Man) was dead (in sin) for
four days (four thousand years) before Jesus arrived bringing Life!
The fifth day…
“Then God
said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let
birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” So
God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which
the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according
to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying,
“Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds
multiply on the earth.” So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.”
I sense in the
Spirit of God that this day has to do with the formation and growth of Israel
as a nation and the Church in this present age. I have received no further clarification than this at this time.
The sixth day…
“Then God
said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind:
cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. And God made the beast
of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and
everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was
good. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;
let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and
over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps
on the earth.” So God created man in His own
image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill
the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds
of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said,
“See, I have given you every herb that
yields seed which is on the face of
all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for
food. “Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to
everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have
given every green herb for food”; and
it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was
very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
The Fifth and Sixth Days (4000-6000 FC, or
on our calendar 0-2000 AD) of course, are not written historically into the
Bible {except in the Book of Acts and Letters to the churches, etc in the 1st. which establishes many of the ‘first’
principles God desires the church to operate in and with}, although there may
be prophetic references that refer to certain events that have occurred. Day
seven however is covered in great detail, in many places throughout the Bible,
mostly in the “Major Prophets.”
In the 10th chapter of Luke,
Jesus tells a parable, please hear this parable again…(parentheses contain my
thoughts as to what the previous represents).
In reply Jesus said: "A man (a sinner) was going down from
Jerusalem (life, the presence of God, or paradise) to Jericho (death), when he
fell into the hands of robbers (Satan, who steals, kills, and destroys). They
stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead
(spiritually dead). A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when
he saw the man, he passed by on the other side (The priest represents the Law.
The Law only shows you your sin, which brings death, so he couldn’t help the
man). So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the
other side (Levites make the annual sacrifices of goats and bulls, which are
only a temporary fix, so he couldn’t help the man either). But a Samaritan
(Jesus, presenter of mercy and grace and the eternal redeemer), as he traveled,
came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to
him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine (Holy Spirit). Then he put
the man on his own donkey (he was bought by a price), took him to an inn (us,
the church) and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins
(two days wages) and gave them to the innkeeper. `Look after him,' {this is the
authority the Lord put into His church by virtue of the Holy Spirit at
Pentecost and still remains today} he said, `and when I return, I will
reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.' (I believe, implying He
would return the third day, or in total day seven.)
Ex 19:10-11 Then the Lord said to
Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them
wash their clothes. “And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third
day the Lord will come down upon
Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. Bearing in mind, the rule, “today
and tomorrow” gives them “two days” to consecrate themselves, “For on the third
day the Lord will come down…” God by Hoy Spirit is doing just this- preparing
His people as a testimony in the world but not of it and showing the way to His
coming the third day.
Mt 23:37-39 “O
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are
sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen
gathers her chicks under her wings,
but you were not willing! “See! Your house is left to you desolate; “for I say
to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
Today many people of Jewish heritage, are doing exactly
that, and the prophesy…
Hosea 6:1-2 Come, and let us return to the Lord;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He
will bind us up.
After two
days He will revive us;
On the third day He will
raise us up,
That we may live in
His sight.
I believe this refers to the rejection of Jesus, as the
Messiah, by the Israelites, and that after two days, in other words, two
thousand years; He would return and raise them up.
Lk. 13:32 And He said to them, “Go, tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and
perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’
Again we see
“today and tomorrow,” two days, then the third day, Perfection! 1 Cor. 13:8-12
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there
are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the
imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like
a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways
behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see
face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully
known.)
The seventh day…
“Thus the
heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the
seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh
day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and
sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created
and made.”
Revelation 20:4-6 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to
them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to
Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image,
and had not received his mark on
their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a
thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand
years were finished. This is the
first resurrection. Blessed and holy is
he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no
power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him
a thousand years.
Then, of course,
the Beginning…
