Team Info:

Driver - Wes Breiten

Driver Bio - I strarted Drag Racing in the mid 1950s with a 49 Ford flathead it had an H&C cam and a sromburg 97 carb ran 72 mph. thats all the timing system they had then at the Double Eagle Dragstrip in San Antonio I would drive to the strip and come home to Hondo usally without low gear. In 1964 while working at a GM dealership I bought a new GTO three dueces and a four speed tweaked it and raced it it ran 13.70 fast but fragile. Built a 40 Ford with a Merc flathead and ran H Gas. Then, in 1968 while a Dodge Dealer, I built a Max Wedge 64 Dodge I ran it for 10 years. I ran it in AHRA SS and Stock Option it would run 1.30 under the index. It was in Hot Rod Magazine once and the caption read the Mopar has been Breiten's ride for over a decade!

Met my wife on the way home from the races in 1969. Never knew if she liked me are the car. She works the wheather station, keeps the log book, checks the tires and helps me with my gear. In 1978 I sold everything and bought a Western Auto Store in Wolfe City. I quit racing until 1992 when we built a small block Mopar 68 Valiant for my son Toby after he got out of high school. He raced six years, brackets and Super Street and did well. I had so much fun going racing again that I raced it for a year and finally won the last race of the season at Paris. I built a 65 MG B with a small block Mopar that I still Run Super Gas and some brackets with. Built a 69 Charger 440 car two years ago to run Mopar and Muscle car with it runs 7.30 1/8 11.50 1/4. I bought the Altered three years to run Top Dragster with but it was to slow and they got to fast. I am putting together a four link dragster with a small block Mopar w7 headed stroker motor to try Top dragster with. I was going to sell the altered when I saw Texas Blown Fuel and it sounded like fun so six months and a few dollars later here I am!
