No one can be good enough to earn salvation by doing enough good works because one sin will earn an eternity in Hell. However; Jesus freely gives His own goodness to anyone who will sincerely ask Him for forgivness.
When we are forgiven, God then adopts us as His own children because of Jesus. When we are God's children, we can look forward to a wonderful eternity of joy, exploration, and learning. Don't miss out.
A simple prayer would be to, in your own words, recognize that Jesus died in your place, for your sins. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to be your lord, the one you learn from and follow. If you are sincere God will hear your prayer and He will come to live inside you and reveal Himself to you.
BEHOLD, I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK, IF ANYONE WILL OPEN THE DOOR I WILL COME IN AND FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM, AND HE WITH ME.
